I think this is just silly. I'm glad that it's working well for you, but to
then assume it should therefore be rock-solid for everybody else -- given
the myriad configurations that abound -- is not very realistic. By and
large, OS X has been moderately stable on my quite standard configuration
(G4/AGP desktop, no peripherals). That said, Mail.app has crashed more than
once, one time even bringing down the rest of the "crash-proof" OS with it.
(Had to three-finger salute.) The classic environment has crashed a couple
of times (apparently due to Entourage), but not enough times to get too
upset about.

Overall, I concur with Allen and the others. I find 9.1 to be faster and
more stable than OS X. I look forward to the day when I can say otherwise!

P.S. A suggestion: stay away from OS X's sleep function. It seems to be a
prime source of instability on my set-up.
