I have updated the Merge contacts script to also handle the furigana fields
in Japanese contacts. Other changes include removal of some duplicate code
and addition of code to handle a couple of fields which were omitted from
the previous version. I have also added a check so that the current identity
will not be the contact flagged for deletion, in case someone is merging
with the identity contact. (Someone more skilled than I at operations on
references should check this.)
There is one issue with this script that I an unable to resolve. The
Japanese contact format also includes information on the status of new years
cards (if they have been received from a contact and if you have sent one to
a contact). This is a critical item for maintaining correct business and
social relationships, so this information should be merged. However, I do
not see where this information is kept - the Entourage contact suite from
the dictionary does not list these fields.
