David, Dennis,

I am aware that the current date and time control panel does not allow dates
to be set past 2040. I expect that user configuration mechanisms, such as
the date and time control panel, would have such limitations to help prevent
pilot error. That is not relevant to this discussion, which is about
Entourage, not the date and time control panel. (FYI, dates past 2040 can be
set programmatically.)

I will grant that it is unusual to receive mail with dates of 2041 today,
but I expect that Entourage will not then compound the situation by wrapping
the date to 1905. With that action, the message becomes eligible for
deletion due to age for most commonly used aging rules. Thus, Entourage
changes an amusing situation to one with potential data loss. That is not
acceptable.
