Does anybody here know what the abovementioned routines might be? Or do I
need to do the Clean Install of both OS and Office?

Thanks a lot Karl.  I think I'll skip that one. Does anybody here know
anything about a small app. called TestMemory 1.0 from velociraptus.com?

Thanks for all the replies to my problem. Unfortunately i remains, so if
anybody has further ideas please let me know, but I'm happy to have received
the help I have already.
