The "slowness thing" is something that only a very few of you have reported
- I have never seen it. It must be related to something particular about
your setup, rather than about Entourage per se. I am sure that the
developers would be interested, but there's not anything they can do about
it unless one of you rare people that sees it can figure out how to make it
happen. Is it hardware-related? Are you all on the same machine? Have you
never, ever seen it in another app? Maybe you really need to figure out if
you all have the same unusual 3rd,4th and 5th-party items interacting? It's
most definitely not due to Entourage on its own, or more people would have
seen it.

As several people have mentioned, the problem shows up on 3 different computers in our office – a G3/333 Lombard PowerBook, a G3/333 Blue/White and a G3/300 Beige with a 500Mhz accelerator card.  This first two are running on OS 9.04.  The latter is running on OS 9.1.  The “slowdown thing” occurs on all three machines, but most often on the G3 Beige running 9.1 (naturally, the one I use most).  I do have a good amount of 3rd party extensions and control panel software on all 3 machines, including: Palm Desktop, Action Files, DiskTop, Norton Systemworks and Anti-virus Auto-Protect, Disk Warrior’s extension, etc.

I cannot “make” the problem occur.  It does occur intermittently in Entourage and in WORD, but not as I recall in any other software.  Once the “slowdown” occurs, there is no way to recover.  Only a re-boot eliminates it, until it occurs again.

At least I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one experiencing this issue.
