Hi,

The Junk Mail Filter really confuses me. Much of the SPAM gets filtered out
but some doesn't, so much of the time it seems to work well, but there are
some funnies.

For example list mail with a 'To' address of

"Entourage:mac Talk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

is filtered to the Junk folder, whereas with a 'To' address of

Entourage <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

It ends up in my Inbox. I dont' have either address in my Address Book.

I'm not quite sure who started the former method of addressing items to the
list or when. I know how to stop this stuff from being filtered into Junk
but what I'd really like to understand is the logic of how the Filter
determines whether to filter emails into the Junk folder and how changing
the sensitivity alters that logic. I think with this info we could all make
the Filter work effectively.

There was some discussion about this a while ago but I don't recall a
definitive outcome.

Any takers?
