Take the plunge, Allen.
Although I have sworn off OS X until 10.1 comes out, because I can't stand
the sluggishness, I installed the 9.2.1 update yesterday afternoon on my
Cube and it works perfectly. The one thing to really make it worth it for
me is that VPC is MUCH faster with 9.2.1, and i've noticed a few other speed
improvements.
Nothing has broken since the update and I have tested every peripheral and
application I own, incl DreamWeaver, PhotoShop 6,VPC 4, Palm, Toast Titanium
(with my QueFire 12x10x32x), all my browsers, email clients and MS Office
apps + a slew of other apps you probably don't care about.
If you use DiskWarrior, you'll notice that the DW extension won't load after
the update. Alsoft has stated that they will release the updated extension
in a few days and post it on their site. Only other thing that was disable
is StartupDoubler 2.6 - which I am hoping they release an update for soon,
but no word yet. When you are loading as many extensions at start up as I
do, every speed increase helps, and StartupDoubler has a very noticeable
positive impact on my boot time.
HTH,
Laurie
