Well, for one, you can override the list behavior... Say the list was set so that replies always went to the sender, but you would rather have them go back to the list. The MLM offers a simple check box to do that. It also has options to move messages you send to a list into whatever folder (if any) have list messages being auto-filed into, you can have messages you send to the list automaticlly deleted when they come in (sinc you have the sent message anyway). It tracks list owner, request, etc. Yes, you could dome some of this with rules, but you would need several separate rules, some incoming, some outgoing to do it.
