The subject of encryption of emails has come up a number of times in the past, and I recall that there has been some hesitation due to reasonable concern about the actual business need for encryption in the Entourage product. However, one of the provisions of HIPAA, which must be implemented by April of 2003 is that mail containing patient information must be encrypted. So if Entourage is to stay a viable candidate for the medical market, then it must support encryption by that date. Since Lotus, Netscape, and Outlook all support Secure MIME, this would seem to be the system of choice to implement.
