On or near 11/15/01 11:32 AM, Rick Mann at [EMAIL PROTECTED] observed: > This might be in Mac OS X, but I only need to press the delete key to delete > a message, even though the menu key-equivalent shown in the menu is > Command-Delete. > > I really prefer the safety net of having to hold Command to delete a > message, especially since the undo doesn't work well and reset as soon as > you switch folders. > This can be particularly irksome when you are reading an incoming message in its own window, forget to start a reply, and then begin to try to "edit" the incoming message by deleting some of its text...you select text, press the Delete key...and the <entire message> disappears! Of course, it only went to the Deleted Items folder, but newbies won't know that. And even when you do it is a PITN to have to switch folders, move the message back where it belongs, and re-open it. If the Command key were required, then you'd just get a "beep" because editing the message isn't allowed (unless you have clicked the "Edit" button, in which case the delete key DOES delete just the selected text).
This needs to be on the "please fix" list for the next update. -- Add me to Palm/Visor: http://signature.coola.com/?[EMAIL PROTECTED] Allen Watson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> XNS name: =Allen Watson Applescripts for Outlook Express and Entourage: <http://homepage.mac.com/allenwatson/> -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To search the archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
