Ah... I thought O.P. were referring to forward delete, not backwards delete.
I like forward delete; hard to hit by mistake. But I could care less about
backwards delete. Never been stung by it, never used it on purpose... didn't
even know it could do that until I tried it just now (in 2001). :)
