There was a brief article/interview with Jobs, when the iPod was 
released, in which he said that they had considered doing a PDA but that 
he (Jobs) thought that the PDA market was on a downturn and that Apple 
could have a better impact in the music market. Looks like he got that 
right. For me, anyway, my iPod is getting way more use than my PDA right 
now.

 From my perspective, my Mac and its software drive the whole system: if 
I can't sync with the applications that keep me going (and this will be 
Entourage X), then it's the PDA that goes in the trash, not the Mac and 
its software.
