Sorry to say that I'm not the one to ask about that. I never read a book on
the subject. Everything I've learned is by trying it out, yelling here when
I get stuck, looking at other peoples scripts and pouring over application
dictionaries.

There are some good pointers at Bill Cheeseman's web site
<http://www.applescriptsourcebook.com/>, at apple's web site (naturally!),
lots of examples scripts at <http://www.applescriptcentral.com/> and many
other places on the web.
