That doesn't sound right, Adam. If you had set certain criteria for the
rule, and had the action of the rule to run the script (and had the script
in the script folder?), then selected a bunch of messages in a folder, say
by shift-click, then select Apply Rule --> This Rule from the message menu,
the script will operate on each message.

Don't use my last script. Here's what I think the problem is, after
re-reading your message: you _imported_ a group of messages. Are you perhaps
referring to Sent Messages? Messages you sent from another program? Did they
get imported as Received messages? That's what usually happens (although
not, I believe importing from Entourage 2001 into Entourage X). But you're
in 2001 - did the messages come in as Received Messages. That would mean
that the "account" would be that of the recipient, not the sender! (you) So
nothing would happen when you ran the rule/script.

As it happens, I just today wrote a script to convert imported messages back
to Sent messages. It's actually a bit more elaborate, for  special purpose
(it redistributes them to original folders too) but I could easily adapt it
for you here. Is that what you really need?
