Can you get a tcpflow (or other network traffic monitor) log of the
failing transaction?

TCPflow and its docs can be found here:

Subject: Entourage v.X and authenticated LDAP?

Hello, I've set up Entourage v.X to use my university's LDAP server
(OpenLDAP 2.0.11, as I recall). We're currently testing authenticated
LDAP
for queries in mail clients.

Since Mail.app does not apparently support this feature at all, I was
looking at Ev.X. I can enter my userid and password for the LDAP server
and turn on the authentication option, but then queries to the server
fail.
Simply turning off authentication and returning to my previous
settings
(the same ones we've used since 1997 across many LDAP/mail clients)
works.
We are not using SSL for these queries at the moment.

At this point, other clients on Windows have worked. I have not yet
investigated OE 5.02/5.03 or Entourage 2001 on classic Mac OS.

Any ideas on why this would be a problem? Could it be something
server-side? Has anyone else gotten this to work, particularly with
OpenLDAP?

Thanks!
