It's possible there's a corruption in the settings/preferences that has
rendered the account faulty. I've seen this in Entourage 2001, but not in
Entourage X. It's also happened a few times in Outlook Express, but that was
some time ago. Anyway, we had a situation where the settings showed one SMTP
server, but the actual mail output showed another. We deleted the account,
closed the program, re-opened the program, and re-created the account. Then
it worked.
