I believe the drag issue is an OS problem. I agree it's slow.

There is a feature in Efx just for this...Look in the message menu next to
Send & Receive.  Move  allows you to move the message to a folder. Most
recent folders are listed and you also have the option to move to any
folder.

Allen Watson also has a script called Open Folder that you might want to
check out.
