Steve, Itried to switch again after main identity came up, but it won’t allow me to do so.

What do you mean "it wouldn't allow you"?
1. It simply wouldn't bring up the window with the list of identities?
2. It brought up the list, but you didn't see your old identity there?
3. It brought up the list, you saw your old identity there but it was dimmed?
4. It brought up the list, you saw your old identity there, you selected it, but you got an error when you clicked OK?
If it's number 4, try it again, but this time hold down the Option key when you click OK. In the list that comes up, choose "Advanced Rebuild". If that still doesn't work, quit Entourage, give it a LOT of Memory, go into the Identity for your old identity, and remove (trash) the Preferences file you'll find there, then do it again with Option key and Advanced Rebuild.
