Hi Mark,

I've found that on a busy newsgroup day, 60 is about the upper limit for the
number of messages that come in in a day. So, get caught up with all your
reading and then Empty Cache and set your Server Options to download 60
headers at a time. Right after you download again, immediately mark all
messages as read; then any new messages that come in subsequently will be
clearly unread.

As for the growing cache, I've found that periodically, older headers are
automatically deleted when I first open a newsgroup. I assume this is a
built-in feature of the MS News Server. Does this answer your questions? I
may not have completely understood them.
