I followed your instructions:

Make a copy of your old Entourage stuff (User>Documents>Microsoft User Data>Office X Identities) and put it in the Users>Shared folder. Restart as the other user and drag the files into the same spot for that user.

I had two files for two previous Entourage identities:

  1. “Main Identity”
  2. “Source”

When I make copies, the new file says (for example) “Main Identity Copy.”  I put it in Shared folder, restart, drag into Office X identities.  Then (thought I should do this, but maybe I shouldn’t have), I took the Office X identities that were already there and put them in a separate folder elsewhere in the computer.  Then I eliminated the “copy” tag on my file.  I open Entourage and it still opens as if for the first time with none of my personal data.  I go to “Switch identities” and it doesn’t show any other identities available.  What have I don’t that I shouldn’t have, or what else do I need to do?

Richard

This is probably a wild shot, but just in case – my identity files are in a folder. Your folder was labeled “Main Identity” right? When you copied it, did everything inside (Database, Database cache, Rules, Signatures, etc) get copied correctly (I know you can’t completely tell, but are things about the same size?) If not, you might not get the information even though you’ve moved the folder.
