Is there any method/script for getting the information from old AOL messages into an E’rage format? I’m helping a friend convert from AOL. If there’s no script, etc., I’ll suggest to just keep AOL around for old file retrieval and reading, but wanted to check with this amazing group first.I have a bunch of old AOL messages I need to convert, and one of these days I will get around to writing an AppleScript to do it. But, so far, I don’t know of any way.
If AOL files are the same now as they were back in 1994, they are actually just plain text files in a particular format. Any program that can read text files can read them (e.g. TextEdit in OS X, or SimpleText in OS 9; BBEdit can read them and can do multi-file searches). Try it!
