I have noted that at times Entourage and more so Word will pause for some time (Word at times shows a progress bar 'saving normal' or some such) before the app actually quits. It appears as if while this is happening that Office is 'talking' to someone/somewhere. If I unplug my ADSL and then quit Word especially gets very unhappy, seemingly looking for a connection. Why, I don't know.
