Title: Re: Emails come back with scrambled text !
Hi Andrew and congratulations!

(Although you will soon learn to be inclusive, you both will be parents and, unless your wife is very forgiving, try to avoid saying “we are pregnant. ;-)

This looks like it is a Character Set issue (i.e., their email program reset the character set) so extended characters such as smart quotes get converted into other characters.  One of the more astute fellows (gender inclusive) will be able to clarify which, I hope.

Help!?

I do not seem to understand what I am doing incorrectly – my emails often get garbled by the recipient and the formatting of the text goes ‘funny’.  I have included a sample below for your perusal.  I would love some help on this.   Is is as simple as using a specific font?  What is going on??

Thanks in advance for the help!

For example, se the following ...

Original text:

OK – I know, I haven’t been particularly good and regular mailings – but there have been lots happening in my world and I have just managed to stop and catch my breath for a few moments.  Let’s see, where do we begin ...

Well, let’s start with the BIG news.  Things between Lisa and I are going exceedingly well. Our ‘Flat’ in Worthing overlooks the English Channel and the scenery is lovely. No two days are identical.  A few weeks ago, however, Lisa was feeling really badly and I actually had to take her to the Hospital (more on that later).  Fortunately, it wasn’t anything serious – except that Lisa is pregnant and I am going to be a Father!
