This is caused by a bug in the HTML rendering engine.. It happens once you have displayed a complex HTML message and will stay that way until you cause the engine to unload (switch to a newsgroup, IMPA account, or simply quit and relaunch entourage). It should only effect things when Entourage is in the foreground, though.
