I used to use a script a long time ago called "Clean Forward" (see below) that would take the email and remove excess quoting, cr's, and "Fwd." It doesn’t work anymore. The messy original(s) get sent along as attachments. Can this script be made smart enough to send a clean version of the original message without attaching messy versions? I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thanks in advance,
I cleaned this script up considerably for OS X. The version I had was quite flaky, and in fact (like your version) simply would not work. I don't see how you were getting any result at all! When I tried it, it got an error on the first line, trying too get the subject of the front window, since a window does not have a subject! I think this script must have worked in Emailer...not in Entourage.
Anyway, I had two versions, one that wraps all text, one that does not wrap (as when sending a script). I fixed it more so the wrap version will not wrap the sig at the end (it stops wrapping when it sees "-- " on a line by itself). See how it works for you; I will send the scripts off list. (Clean Forward & Wrap, Clean Forward & Nowrap).
If anyone else wants these scripts, which operate ONLY on an unsent draft window (a message you are forwarding, presumably), let me know. If enough are interested I'll post them somewhere.
