I can't say that I know for certain, but I don't think the message pane is
an MS "widget" since it only displays AA with OSX 10.1.5. I.e., it needed
the OS update from Apple to display the AA text in content windows.

I *think* that both are OS, it is just that Apple has only developed
different portions of the code at different times. But I could be wrong. I
often am.
