I posted a note some time ago mentioning that Entourage 2001 uses the
"INTERNALDATE" attribute of IMAP messages as its "received" date, but
doesn't set this value when moving messages into an IMAP account (from a
local folder, or another IMAP account). Specifically, it doesn't pass the
message's date as the optional parameter to the IMAP "APPEND" command, which
then defaults INTERNALDATE to the _current_ date, which Entourage then uses
as the "received" date.
I just took a quick look at Enrage X SR1 (we're still stuck with 2001 until
a program or two get released for X), and this still seems to be the case.
If anyone here has a good line into the Entourage development pipeline, I'd
really appreciate it if you could pass this feature request on.
For anyone interested in preserving dates while moving mail between IMAP
accounts the latest Mulberry 3.0 alpha (3.0a2) now has this feature, but
that doesn't help me with the users I'm trying to get to move mail from
Entourage local folders to IMAP.
Thanks,
