I'm from Belgium, used to be ISPied upon by Coditel & UCP...
No support for Mac ("but I know it is much easier") and Entourage ? "Never
heard about it".

Incorrect settings, yes, the first couple of days things happen there at
those ISP's... Just wait for a night or so... I think your ISP keeps record
of what MAC adress (unique per computer) belongs to what IP adress (given to
you by the ISP, you know those 123.456.789.123 sequences of numbers) and to
what cable modem number. They want to prevent you use more than 1 computer
per internetconnection they sell you... So the moment you change your
computer (other MAC adress) the combination changes and your ISP's Server
stops all data transmission... Then you have to wait for 12-24-36 hours
until everything is reset, you get a new ip adres etc... Or... Just tell
them your name is Naomi Campbell or Richard Gere and tell the first line
support they have to tell the second and third and finally the technical guy
if he'd please but the reset button for your customer number (mostly your
cable-modem number).... All of a sudden everything works...
Perhaps you'll even get a phonecall from a relieved first line supporter
telling you that you could avoid the problem by putting a 'little box'
(switch) between your computer and the modem... The ISP then checks if the
combination:mac adress of that switch box-ip adress you have been
given-cablemodem number is still the same... And you just put any and as
many computers behind your switch box...preferably an Airport... Then you
can share your ISP costs by max. 50 computers that have an aircard in your
block-of-buildings... Don't do like me...I have an airport that transmits to
an airport on the other side that transmits to yet anohter airport and so we
provide internet to all the levels on the innner side of our
block-of-buildings...because then all those computer-inernet-connected
people start giving you the status of Buddha...
Good luck... Anyway...this was a suggestion of providing internet in a poor
country like Mozambique or Angola for what is was intended for... To
distribute knowledge.
