I can't remember where this issue came up so I'm posting it here as well as to the newsgroups I hang out in. Someone was complaining about how loud the startup chime in OS X is ... that it was loud enough to wake up a sleeping spouse. Well I just read the following in the MacValley User's Group newsletter and maybe it will help someone get a better night's sleep :-):
- - - - - - - - "Boot into OS 9 and change the volume. For some reason this sticks even though doing the same in OS X has no effect on the startup chime volume. Strange, but true. I suppose there is a least _one_ reason to keep an OS 9 System Folder on your disk, even if you don't think you have any use for it." - - - - - - - - Beth -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
