But I don't care how long something takes to do if it happens when I'm not paying attention (and IMAP is not an issue in my case). I have my "dump" schedule running every 2 hours so it never has many messages to delete at once and therefore I usually don't even know it happened. I'd rather something like this work in the background than in my face. And I certainly don't want to think about it.
