Incidentally, I’ve also used “move theMsg to deleted mail folder” in place of “delete theMsg”; no apparent difference.
The first won't work at all for IMAP messages (errors), whereas the second appears to work but doesn't really (deletes from the cache but not the server). You'd only find this difference in IMAP.
