That merits a new version number, I think; especially the Unicode part.
v2.0. To me a x.x.n number is a minor bug fix; a x.n number is major bug
fixes and minor new features; while a full n release indicates a major new
feature of some kind. Support for foreign character sets seems to me a major
thing.
