When I forward the following message, I don't get the ugly HTML that's
below. When I view it, I do. The message was sent via Outlook XP to a
LetterRip Pro email list... Any ideas what's going on?

Dear all,

I am looking for suggestions from you about how we should manage inquiries
from vendors (or is it venders??). As you know, there is a mountain of
vendors who want some face time with us. The deluge of such requests can
overwhelm our schedules if we let it. We need to find a way so that a.) we
keep current about available materials and resources, and b.) we provide
some reasonable opportunities for vendors to do their job and show us their
products - all in a way that is manageable for us.

Here are a couple of suggestions that I know you have used in one form or
another. I post them here:

a.) We set aside an hour or two each week for science and a similar amount
for math and we book vendors into 1 hour slots. Those who want to attend
and are available, do so. We can set up a schedule on the Web so that
school personnel can also attend. Perhaps we have a subcommittee of people
for whom we make this part of their regular responsibility - they do the
initial screening and make some recommendations for follow up with a larger
group.

b.) We set aside a couple of days for a math/science vendor fair, and
schedule (concurrent) sessions during the day for vendors to do hour-long
presentations. School personnel could be invited.

What are the pros and cons of these options? What are other possibilities.
Whatever we do, we need to do it in a way that keeps it contained and
manageable.

Please post your responses to the listserv, i.e., don't just hit the reply
button, be sure that the listserv address is in our "To" field.
