I've uploaded a new version of my script, "Strip [*] fr Subject(v2)". It
removes prefixes from subject lines such as "[X-apps]" and "[EntourageTalk]"
(I know, this list does not use them, for which I'm grateful, but some lists
I am on do). If there are multiples of such bracketed phrases it will remove
them all. (Caveat: It removes everything that appears in square brackets!
Don't use it if there might be good information there.) It will also remove
multiple "Re:" and "Fw:" prefixes, and replace them with a single one (the
most recent, or leftmost, prefix). It will also remove leading and trailing
spaces, and collapse multiple spaces to a single space. This could result in
some mis-threading if the original subject contained extraneous spaces, but
most of the time it is beneficial.

It is much more rigorous than the previous version, which only removed a
single "Re:" prefix and a single bracketed phrase.

My previous version, "Strip [*] from Subject", contained a subsequent call
to another script, "Remove Yahoo Group Ads." That script can cause problems
with some HTML messages. So, this version no longer calls the other script.

It can be found at my site below, in the folder:
