I have what I think is a similar problem ... I have a folder that shows 5
messages unread, but there are no unread messages in the folder.  When a new
message arrives the count goes up to six, but hose 5 are buggers!

<cmd> <shift> "O" shows nothing that is unread.  Flushing the folder and
re-downloading it clears the problem - but I lose all message flags, and
history so I don't want to do this.

My IMAP server is EIMS (OS X.2.3 E-Rage X-1.3) - but I think this is an
E-rage issue, not EIMS.
