The Database file is 953 MB. I have an email archive back to 1996.

That's a frightening thought to me. I've got a lot of sensitive email.

This is something I anticipated trying.

This is a very good idea. I will try it if necessary.

I observed an interesting thing recently. I considered changing email
clients to either Mailsmith or Eudora. So, I dragged my Inbox to the
desktop to create a Sendmail-type mbox file. I imported that into both
Mailsmith and Eudora and discovered that one of the emails that was being
chosen to replace my attachments was shown twice within Inbox. Odd, eh?
Also, I've noticed that this attachment corruption issue only seems to
persist when I'm emailing several people at a time. For example, the email
that I kept trying to send was to 7 recipients. When I sent it to myself
first, I got no issue. When I followed the same procedure and attempted to
email to multiple addresses, it first came back with a send error (I don't
recall the number) and then eventually sent the email. I believe that the
send error may be creating the corruption.
What do you think?
Thanks for all your help!
