(I’m using Entourage X with OS 10.2.4). I want to export my contacts into Apple Address Book, so I have them in vCard format to use with my FAXstf program. The only export choice Entourage gives me is .txt file. In Apple Address Book, if I go to import, it only has the choices of vCard or LDIF file. From Apple Address Book, I try to directly open Entourage database, but that doesn’t work either. How do I export into Apple Address Book?

You can drag them several at a time (but not more than 100-200) to your desktop or a Finder folder to make vCards. Then import them from there to Address Book. But if you use a lot of Entourage's fields, the vCards will be missing a lot of information, and the import into Address Book will miss more.  They'll have addresses, email addresses, some phone numbers and notes. No custom fields or anything like that.

Or you can get my shareware script "Sync Entourage-Address Book" at

AppleScript Central   <http://www.applescriptcentral.com/>

which exports everything and also allows you to keep them in sync, as you add or modify them. It seems that most fax programs, including FAXstf, mess up the Address Book when syncing to it with iSync. So if you use my scripts, you'll probably want to to "OneWay Syncing" from Entourage to Address Book, so Entourage is never messed up and continually corrects any errors FAXstf makes in Address Book. You use Entourage as your main PIM, feeding Address Book and faxing that way.

PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - 2001 or X. It's often impossible to answer your questions otherwise.
