Tried to: delete an address from the address book (which is for some reason named something I’d named a task: clean out locker!).
Alert: The action could not be completed. Not enough memory.
Checked: entourage.mvps.org, didn’t find answer. Did find answer instantly for database rebuild.
Recent moves: database rebuild to solve crashing problems (before that, I increased the memory quite a few times, 1000 kb at once). Crashing solved.
Next?
You did find the answer, but you didn't act on it. There is no "next". Do a database rebuild. just as it told you to do. You probably will need to do an Advanced Rebuild.
As I said, recent moves of mine: I did a database rebuild – it told me to do a typical (whatever it’s called, not advanced).
P.S. Increasing memory of Entourage by 1000K is a puny increase. Depending on the size of your database, a minimum of 15-20 MB (20,000 KB) is the least you need to have things working smoothly. For a database rebuild, it might even be a good idea to close out other apps and give Entourage 50+ MB temporarily, then restore to normal after you're done.
I’ve increased the memory way beyond the initial amount it came with. As I said, I increased it quite a few times. After I send this and I can quit Ent., I’ll see what I gave it.
PPS: I assume you're trying to delete an actual contact , not just its address, from the Address Book, correct?
Yes.
