No ideas, but a question or two. Are you setting an hour for the events, and
a duration, or are they untimed events? When you get an event starting
Saturday and extending thru Sunday, does that mean they cover 48 hours, or
are there specific start/stop hours?

I'm not aware of this kind of calendar problem. Unless someone comes up with
a better idea, I'd try a simple rebuild as a precautionary measure.
