I am working with two clients for whom I manage email. Our new email service
requires authentication to send via SMTP.
Since Entourage 2001 on OS 9 has issues with authenticating to an SMTP
server without the SR1 release applied, I suggested they apply the SR1
release.
Midway through the SR1 install, both machines fail with a similar issue.
They are told that a resource was modified and the installation cannot
continue. There is something that looks like a error code: ({df}14) or
something similar.
One of these users is computer savvy and the other is not. Unfortunately the
less savvy user is also 3,000 miles away so I'm looking for solutions less
drastic than having to re-install all of the software.
Does anyone know how to resolve issues such as the one mentioned above? Any
help would be very much appreciated.
