Sorting tasks by date AND category

Is there a way to have the tasks list sorted by date and, within each date, sorted by category?

I click on a task and the individual task window opens in Office Notifications. Right now, the default window is fairly small.  Is there a way to have that default window larger (longer from top to bottom) because I often have lists in the lower part of the window and would like those to show up without having to drag each window larger each time.
