Title: Re: Strategies for keeping the MUD slim
Hi tuqqer,

I just created a second identity for the purpose of archiving messages that don't need to be in my Main Identity any longer.  That's one way.  You find others here:  <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq/database.html>

After fixing a broken MUD folder using Paul's Export-Import X scripts, I'm now wiping the sweat off my brow and wondering the best ways to keep the MUD slimmed down. As my business and life become more and more dependant on this one single folder, I'm wanting to get much smarter about how I treat it, and keeping its size down so that it doesn't get wonky again.

It would seem to me that trimming the numbers of emails (and their attachments) down is the main step in MUD House Keeping. I seem to recall a couple months ago, someone saying that their method was to create a Mail View that found all sent/received emails older than XX days, but I'm not sure if that' the best method.

What are some of the ways you all keep your MUD folder from getting so big? Perhaps the best method is staring right at me with Paul's 50 scripts, or maybe it really is as simple as doing a find for "all sent/received emails older than 180 days" and then burning them onto a CD, and doing this once a month.

What are your methods to MUD Slide Slimmin'?
