Title: Re: Error: -50
Anyone brave enough to tackle this question from last week?

Good Day,

I am getting a consistent “error: -50” when checking a couple of sub folders in an IMAP account.  The folder is subscribed.

This is a relatively new account for me.  It was working fine and then stopped this morning.

A couple of interesting tidbits:
  • I’m using Entourage 1.4 on OS 10.2.6 on a Pismo G3
  • The server is an EIMS server (OS 9)
  • Outlook Express on a PC shows the contents of the folders just fine. (Entourage did not work before or after the outlook Express check)
  • I have restarted the EIMS server, and restarted the Pismo – no change in behavior.
  • I have unsubscribed and resubscribed the folders
  • I have flushed the email for the account and “<ctrl><opt>L” to refresh
  • Other IMAP folders in other accounts in Entourage work fine.

I created a second IMAP account accessing the same data and it worked fine.  The only thing I have not done is rebuild my database.  I think I am going to delete the original account and run with the second one.

But before I delete the first account I’d like to know what does this mean?  On the Microsoft web site the references to “error: -50” were primarily to intermittent connections. Having the second account working debunks that thought and in my mind points to some sort of corruption.
