Finally moved up to Panther and installed it on a new 17" iMac and moved Microsoft User Data over and Entourage is working fine. One thing that I notice, however, is that the Verdona 10pt that is used in both folder listings and the listings of messages shows much worse under Panther than under Jaguar. I checked to make sure that the settings are the same in Panther-installed Entourage and on the old Jaguar-installed Entourage. Is there something that I am missing?
