It's not a "list", it's a newsgroup. You do not need a password. Perhaps you
don't have an email account set up for the MS News Server, although it
should be set up by default to your default mail account. The easy way is
this:

Tools/Accounts/News/Microsoft News Server/Edit

and flip the "Email account" popup to any mail account you want. Do NOT
enter anything into the Account ID or Password boxes. Do NOT check the "This
server requires me to log on" box. The news server address should read:

    msnews.microsoft.com

However, recently a lot of spam has been directed at people whose email
addresses appear in the public newsgroups. You should use a false email
address instead of your real one to avoid the spam. The way to do that is to
first create a dummy, send-only POP mail account:

    Tools/Accounts/Mail/New/Configure manually

Male it a POP account, enter your real name but a false email address (I had
the word "spoof_" to my real domain"). Do not enter anything for POP server
or password, do enter your real SMTP server address (same as for your real
email address). If your ISP requires SMTP authentication, click the
"Advanced sending options" and check that and your password there. That's
it. Now go to the News account and choose this account as your email account
for the news server.

No, there is not a _mail_ mailing list for Excel. There is this newsgroup,
and many other Excel newsgroups, where you can great advice, I thought
that's what you wanted. You can get there on the web if you prefer, but as I
said, your messages will take a long tome to get propagated that way:

    http://groups.google.com/groups?group=microsoft.public.mac.office.excel

It's much nicer using Entourage, especially if you plan to be going often to
the newsgroup and not just a once-off.

PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - 2001 or X.
It's often impossible to answer your questions otherwise.
