Yes, for IMAP and other server accounts, where the previous cache is emptied
and replaced by new downloads. If you keep POP messages on the server, they
may get downloaded again, but would be duplicates. It depends on your ISP's
"POPper", I think : if it recognizes specific computers and email clients,
as the better ones do, the messages will be marked as read on the server and
won't re-downloaded. If it's a crummy POPer, then it doesn't know you've
downloaded them already and is depending on your email client to know. If
you've done an Advanced Rebuild, the ID numbers of your messages in the
database are different so Entourage   doesn't know they've been downloaded
before and you'll get duplicates.

It certainly used to be there for IMAP. If you've got POP your situation is
very rare - it doesn't happen to most people.
