Yes, for IMAP and other server accounts, where the previous cache is emptied and replaced by new downloads. If you keep POP messages on the server, they may get downloaded again, but would be duplicates. It depends on your ISP's "POPper", I think : if it recognizes specific computers and email clients, as the better ones do, the messages will be marked as read on the server and won't re-downloaded. If it's a crummy POPer, then it doesn't know you've downloaded them already and is depending on your email client to know. If you've done an Advanced Rebuild, the ID numbers of your messages in the database are different so Entourage doesn't know they've been downloaded before and you'll get duplicates. > > No mention of this quirk in the Ent Help? It certainly used to be there for IMAP. If you've got POP your situation is very rare - it doesn't happen to most people. -- Paul Berkowitz MVP Entourage Entourage FAQ Page: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/toc.html> AppleScripts for Entourage: <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/> PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - 2001 or X.
