Curious...how are you "forced" to upgrade? I've found the Palm devices I've owned to be so stable that I've been going 2-3 years between upgrades. Just replaced my Palm m515 running OS 4 a couple of weeks ago with an OS 5 device. And I still think that while PalmSource, the OS company, has dropped syncing in the Mac that PalmOne, the hardware company, will put something in the box when they ship an OS 6 device. They already include a suite of software tools such as Documents to Go that aren't part of the OS so it's not a stretch.
