Ill be honest, this needs to be handled at the email server level, and handled intelligently. You may want to reconsider with all the spam and virus that are out there, you will end up replying to all those as well. It happens all too often that a mailing list like this one will get bombarded in a auto-reply loop, I know the email mailing list managers really hate them as well. I am not sure it really provides any value at all. If you must, make sure you find some way of only auto replying once, not to every email, but only once to each unique sender. Most modern email servers can handle this.
