Sven, you have to be careful when talking about Outlook and Outlook Express.
Microsoft has several different versions out there.

On the Windows side, Microsoft includes Outlook Express with their operating
system just like Apple includes Mail with OS X. So your ISPs will be very
familiar with it. Microsoft also provides Outlook, a more robust personal
information manager that functions like Entourage. Outlook is also the
client for Microsofts' corporate e-mail system -- Exchange. Therefore your
IT department may be familiar with Outlook.

Microsoft used to provide Outlook Express for the Mac. Apple used to
included it with its OS releases as the default Macintosh e-mail client
(until Mail was added to the OS X builds). Microsoft also had (has?) an
Outlook client for the Mac (for people who needed the ability to connect to
Exchange severs). However, Microsoft is in the process of moving this
Exchange connectivity from Outlook to Entourage.

Windows:
  Home Use -- Outlook Express
  Business -- Outlook
Macintosh:
  Home Use -- Apples' Mail
  Business -- Entourage
