I forgot to mention that in my previous email. Make sure all the directories
under "Microsoft User Data" say rwxrwxrwx and chmod 777 if necessary. For
some bizarre reason, Microsoft apps won't launch unless they have read-write
access to prefs, although they don't say permission denied. They just start
to launch, then die.
